In the position of Purchasing Agent, you will be an important contributor to our ongoing success as a manufacturer of electronic building control systems. Your responsibilities will be varied and you will work directly with Product Development, Manufacturing and Management in an entrepreneurial environment.

Duties:

• Purchase supplies, raw materials and parts for the manufacturing of electronic products
• Monitor vendor shipments to ensure acceptable quality
• Analyze sales and procurement data and understand market trends to make purchasing decisions
• Maintain market intelligence and report potential changes in pricing, product availability and other problems that could adversely affect the Company before the problem arises
• Maintain/build cooperative vendor relationships and negotiate for optimal terms of purchase
• Collaborate with sales and management to maximize efficiency in purchasing and inventory control
• Communicate with vendors to resolve problems of quality, price, delivery and terms of sale
• Regularly update Company’s product cost spreadsheets with changes in material prices and strive to reduce product manufacturing costs
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software programs

Education and Experience:

• Associate degree or equivalent in Accounting, Business, Engineering, or technical field
• 1-3 years of experience in purchasing, inventory control or related employment

• Lifting up to 40# (occasionally)
• Climbing stairs (occasionally)

• $55,000 Base Salary
