Required Experience: Completion of residency in Psychiatry

Required License or Certification: WA State Licensure or license-eligible; Board Certified or Board certification Eligible

THIRA Health seeks a skilled Psychiatrist with excellent communication, interpersonal, and administrative skills. The ideal candidate should have crisis management experience and be able to effectively treat a caseload of adolescent and adult female behavioral health patients in partnership with THIRA’s Medical Team. The Psychiatrist should have experience with co-occurring diagnoses and be comfortable prescribing and treatment planning for sometimes medically or psychiatrically complex cases.

Job Duties:

• Evaluate patients’ psychiatric needs, prescribe, and support in management of patient psychiatric medication while patients are enrolled in IOP or PHP level of care through regular medication management appointments and initial psychiatric evaluations; follow up on any medical/medication related issues as needed (Required # patients will vary based on job type status).

• Collaborate with prescribing team and multidisciplinary clinical team to create treatment plans and implement recommendations
• Complete clinical documentation in a timely, accurate, and professional manner using electronic medical record MicroMD
• Order and interpret appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures for psychiatric medication management
• Support in utilization review of all patients and interface with third-party payers to advocate for patient reauthorizations
• Communicate with outside providers and patient family members regarding medical/medication information as needed

• Provide very light on-call rotation as needed

Required Experience:

• Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy in Psychiatry (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school
• Eligible for Board certification in Psychiatry or Board Certified
• Licensed or license-eligible prescriber in State of Washington; current license must maintain good standing with the State Licensing Board.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience working in IPU, IOP, PHP preferred
• Experience with Eating Disorders preferred
• Experience in providing short terms, evidence-based psychotherapy (CBT, DBT, etc.) preferred
