We are seeking a compassionate and experienced psychiatric nurse practitioner to join our team at our corrections facility. As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to patients with mental health and behavioral disorders.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychiatric assessments and evaluations to diagnose mental health and behavioral disorders
- Prescribe and manage medications to treat psychiatric disorders, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia
- Provide counseling and therapy to patients and their families, using evidence-based approaches
- Monitor and evaluate patients' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and case managers, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care
- Document patient encounters accurately and efficiently using electronic medical records
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current psychiatric treatments and best practices
Requirements:
- Active license as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) in good standing
- Graduate of an accredited PMHNP program
- At least 2 years of experience as a PMHNP
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
