Harmony Behavioral Health Center provides evaluations, assessments, and/or treatment for adults with behavioral health problems. Harmony Behavioral Health Center provides different levels of treatment options in the continuum of care to ensure the needs of patients are met. HIRING FOR BATON ROUGE AND SURROUNDING AREAS (Zachary, Baker, Clinton, Slaughter, Ethel and MISSISSIPPI.)

We're currently in need of compassionate and nurturing techs with a passion for providing patients with exceptional psychiatric treatment. The techs will be responsible for providing and documenting psychiatric care for adults.

Responsibilities:

· Perform responsible non-professional nursing support work which involves assisting in creating and maintaining a therapeutic environment for patients.

· Performs all tasks in a training capacity.

· Assists to create and maintain a therapeutic environment for mentally ill and/or substance abuse patients to include performing routine nursing duties such as taking vital signs and weighing patients.

· Records data on patients' charts concerning behavioral observations, vital signs, symptoms, accidents, injuries, etc.

· Accompanies patients to clinics, meals, recreational activities, field trips, etc to ensure safety and prevent elopements.

· Performs required duties in maintaining a safe and sanitary environment for patients by assisting in cleaning physical surroundings, furnishings, and equipment in patient care area.

· Performs housekeeping duties such as changing bed linens, assisting with washing patients’ clothes and daily ADL’s.

· Observe and manage escalating behaviors.

· Assists in restraining hostile and physically violent patients utilizing therapeutic intervention techniques.

· Makes rounds to check patients' presence, checks for compliance with safety rules and regulations and documents appropriately.

· Interacts with patients as a therapeutic function; observes and reports condition of patients to appropriate professional personnel.

· Participates with groups in therapeutic activities.

· Assists in emergency situations.

· Supervises the work of patients engaged in work activities.
