Olympus Property is growing and we are excited to introduce an PROPERTY ACCOUNTANT position based out of FORT WORTH, TX!


This role does require the ability to work onsite daily in our Corporate Home Office located in Downtown Fort Worth. (*This is not a remote or hybrid role.)

Position Summary:

The Property Accountant will be responsible for timely and accurately maintaining all accounting books and records for their assigned properties.

Position Reports to: Accounting Manager

Essential Functions:

  • Prepare monthly financial reporting packages and ensure internal and external reporting deadlines are met
  • Prepare and post journal entries and accruals for assigned properties
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and bank statements
  • Perform an in-depth review of general ledger and income statements, tracking lender reporting and preparing replacement reserve draw requests
  • Work closely with Corporate team, Regional Operations Teams, and Property Managers
  • Support the Accounts Payable department and assist and coordinate audit information and requests
  • Continual evaluation and improvement of accounting and reporting process automation
  • Ensure all documentation is stored and organized on shared company drives, or as outline by Senior Management
  • Monitor areas of attention and formulate solutions as needed
  • Follow established company guidelines, policies, and procedures
  • Any additional tasks as assigned by Senior Management

Skills/Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required
  • Experience in the multifamily industry highly preferred
  • Experience with RealPage highly preferred
  • Must be technically astute and well versed in MS Office and Excel.
  • Experience in Accounting software, such as Yardi, OneSite, or MRI is a plus.
  • Strong organization skills, problem-solving skills, research and resolution skills, and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information in a professional manner
  • Ability to work well under pressure, establish priorities, multi-task, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
  • Customer service oriented with a positive, proactive work ethic and approach
  • Self-motivated, flexible, career oriented, fast learner and works well in a team environment

Physical Job Requirements:

  • Required to maintain a regular schedule which may require working outside business hours, weekends and non-traditional holidays.
  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 20 pounds.
  • Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency required.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, reach, bend and stoop for extended periods of time.
  • Talking and expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
  • Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction.
  • Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound.
  • Visual requirements including color, depth perception, and field vision.
  • Ability to compare, copy, coordinate, synthesize, negotiate, communicate, and instruct.
  • Ability to tolerate stressful situations.
  • Ability to work under minimal to moderate supervision.
