Job Summary:

Portfolio Manager must prove to be knowledgeable and experienced in project management techniques related to clinical trials and to manage a portfolio of clinical studies as Global Project Manager. In addition to their portfolio of clinical studies, the Portfolio Managers can receive special assignments in the following dimensions: CLIENT LEAD, DEPARTMENT LIAISON or MENTORING. In this capacity, Portfolio Manager must prove to be capable to manage with confidence diverse and complex client accounts, must prove to be capable to drive with confidence, diverse and complex projects, must demonstrate ownership and forward thinking while keeping a collaborative attitude and fostering excellent communication within a project team. Portfolio Manager must show flexibility when appropriate and possess capability to make decisions, must be able to act as consultant, demonstrate integrity and dedication and ability to deliver outstanding customer service.

Essential Job Duties:
  • The Portfolio Manager is expected to manage a portfolio of client studies and in addition to assume special assignments including but not limited to: department liaison, mentoring responsibilities, leading process improvement projects, leading initiatives with departmental impact and beyond, etc.
  • For the part related to managing a portfolio of studies, the duties and responsibilities are identical to those of all level Project Managers:
  • Key contact for clients, primary liaison role between Clients, CRO, Referral Laboratories and Labcorp
  • Takes the lead over the protocol review and study feasibility.
  • Act as a consultant in providing recommendations and advice to all applicable parties
  • Acts as an ambassador on behalf of the client within Labcorp CLS and across Labcorp business units; exemplifies the concept of Signature Client Service through outstanding, personalized customer service skills
  • Ability to create and motivate a team around project deliverables
  • Provides day-to-day project management oversight; effectively managing, planning and coordinating all project related activities, including budgets
  • Ensures that all customer expectations are documented and acted upon in compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Demonstrates through appropriate self organization the ability to manage conflicting priorities and to make difficult decisions
  • Able to act efficiently in an environment with dynamic timelines and priorities
  • Accountable for the implementation, monitoring and reporting of performance metrics
  • Actively participates in Labcorp CLS development through continuous process improvement, quality and productivity
  • Work with appropriate internal and external personnel to understand the culture and pipeline of assigned clients
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills that will build strong internal and external relationships to ensure deliverables are on time and within budget
  • Other duties as assigned

DEPARTMENT LIAISON
  • Serves as the point of contact for implementation of changes and communicating general information or concerns between the departments
  • Define department strategy for the area assigned - current state and future state
  • Meet with assigned department representatives at least on a monthly basis; ensure that meeting minutes are kept updated and communicated to all concerned parties SOP process review, work instructions and JobAids
  • Manage Knowledge Management System
  • Works globally with counterparts
  • Meet with the liaison group monthly
  • Leads and implements process improvements on behalf of Project Management department

MENTORING
  • Mentor assigned Project Management staff, including new comers in the department
  • Assists the training team with on-boarding of new comers and serves as Subject Matter Expert for training modules part of the on-boarding program

CLIENT LEAD
  • Acts as Project Management counterpart for Program Managers (if assigned) or Account Executives for all operational related aspects of a clinical study, programs or accounts; if no Program Manager is assigned, the Client Specialist is expected to interact with client contacts beyond operational matters (eg. strategic discussions, pipeline information, etc)
  • Demonstrate high level knowledge of study designs for the entire portfolio of assigned clients
  • Support all internal teams during client escalations and issues resolution; coordinate communication for issues affecting multiple protocols for assigned clients
  • Responsible for development and maintenance of assigned clients specific templates and guidelines
  • Responsible for shared knowledge process for items related to assigned clients
  • Define, report and manage Key Performance Indicators for the assigned clients or programs; communicate actions internally and ensure their implementation
  • Train Labcorp CLS team (including Project Managers) on assigned client specificities and ensure the quality of associated deliverables is achieved
  • Other duties as assigned

The Portfolio Manager is expected to interact with external clients regularly throughout all duties and responsibilities mentioned above.

Experience:

Minimum Required:
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a Sr Project Manager role

Education/Qualifications/Certifications and Licenses

Minimum Required:
  • University degree (scientific fields preferred)
  • Level of education required (or experience level which may be substituted for level of education): Minimum Bachelor level or equivalent work related experience.

Pay range: $77,002-$119,496-$125,471
