Environmental Project Manager

Pay: $85-$120 DOE

Environmental Compliance Consultants, Inc. (ECC) is an Alaska owned Environmental Services and Consulting corporation with a 24-year history. We are a leading provider of environmental and industrial services to our local communities, the Department of Defense (DOD), Department of Veterans Affairs, and other Commercial, Municipality, State, and Federal clients. We offer a variety of expanding opportunities with Service Centers in North Pole and Anchorage, Alaska; Portland, Oregon; and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Our staff consists of highly knowledgeable Project Managers, Scientists, Site Managers, Technicians, Drivers, and Operators working together for personal advancement and shared success.

We are looking for dynamic Project Managers specializing in environmental services to join our team in Anchorage, Alaska (opportunities are additionally available in North Pole/Fairbanks). Available positions include junior through senior-level Project Managers. Mid through Senior level Environmental Scientists transitioning to Project Manager are also encouraged to apply. Compensation will be commensurate with related experience and capability. Project Managers manage and oversee various environmental projects for Federal, State, and Commercial clients throughout Alaska and beyond (contaminated sites, remedial investigations, RCRA/CERCLA operations, air/ground water monitoring, etc.). They are responsible for all aspects of contract and project management including proposals, coordination, project execution, budget, reporting, client interaction, invoice preparation, and contract performance. Experience with DOD and Federal contracts is highly desired. We look forward to meeting you and making a positive difference in our communities together!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance of health and safety program requirements as the number one priority for self and team.
  • Manage all aspects of multidisciplinary environmental projects and project teams for DOD/government, and commercial projects.
  • Collaborate and communicate with internal and external stakeholders to secure necessary support, resources, and equipment for project planning and execution.
  • Develop/implement strategy and approach for complex projects; develops schedules, budgets, and forecasts; selects materials, equipment, project staff, and contractors.
  • Ensure financial documentation is precise, accurate, and representative of the financial health of a project; manages project to stay within or under budget.
  • Supervise, Lead, motivate, and train subordinate Project Managers and Scientific staff through involved mentorship and guidance.
  • Work with the project team and marketing resources to prepare, lead, and support proposal development, project cost estimates and presentations.
  • Primary client liaison; manages the project team to deliver scope, schedule, and budgets to completion and to the client’s satisfaction. Assists with client project scoping and contract negotiations.
  • Prepare design documents, technical plans, and written reports.
  • Management and preparation of various Local, State, and Federal regulatory permit applications.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience as an Environmental Project Manager
  • 10+ years environmental science/services experience
  • Bachelor's degree in related science or engineering field
  • Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Abide by company drug-free policy including prohibition of recreational and medicinal marijuana
  • Exceptional attention to details, planning, and quality
  • Team-oriented with strong capability to motivate others
  • Must demonstrate superior ability in collaborative problem solving with stakeholders, clients, and teammates
  • Must have the ability to manage a medium to heavy workload
  • Work exceptionally well with staff and coworkers at all levels; respectful/professional
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel for projects throughout Alaska and beyond as needed
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, tracking databases, and other computer-based project management systems
  • Valid driver's license with clean motor vehicle record
  • Ability to pass government background checks for military installation and worksite access.
  • Ability to pass occupational physicals and perform the physical requirements of the position.

Preferred Qualifications: (not deal breakers)

  • 40-hour HAZWOPER and current 8-hour refresher
  • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP)
  • State of AK Qualified Sampler
  • Experience on DOD and Federal contracts
  • Experience in RCRA and CERCLA
