Job Description

Summary/Objective

The responsibility of the Project Manager is to provide and maintain overall direction of each project in a proactive and professional manner to include the list of duties below. Coordinate and properly communicate internally with estimators, superintendents, administrative assistants, accounting personnel and management to ensure all aspects of the project are being met. Coordinate and properly communicate externally with customers, consultants, and general contractors to assure all expectations are being met.

Essential Functions:

• Plans, organizes, and directs the completion of specific projects while ensuring projects are on time, on budget, and within scope.
• Acknowledges the project management life cycle of initiation, planning, execution, and closure to ensure the project is properly executed from beginning to the end.
• Procures equipment and subcontractors.
• Performs regular jobsite visits, attends meetings.
• Maintains and monitors job progress reports and jobsite records including daily reports.
• Controls and reports job costs.
• Resolves technical or contractual issues.
• Assures the customer's expectations are being met.
• Be flexible and keep an open mind to change.
• Estimating and running jobs and making the job profits required by Agar.

Travel

Ability and flexibility for frequent local travel is expected for this position.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment as well as on site at construction, food plant and manufacturing locations. The use of computers, printers, cell phones, telephones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines is required. Other functions can take place indoors or outdoors, sometimes in high, precarious places with fumes and/or airborne particles. The work environment occasionally has loud to very loud noise levels associated with various equipment, coworkers, and phone conversations. Occasionally work must be performed in high and/or cramped workspaces and awkward positions. The employee may work around hazardous situations, materials, and equipment.
