Ideal Background

:
Education: Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Civil Engineering from an accredited university is preferred.

Certification
: Professional Engineering and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) registration is highly preferred.

Experience:
This position requires up to 10 years of relevant experience in engineering and project management.

Generally responsible for performing all aspects of project management for moderately complex engineering project assignments ensuring total delivery of the services on time, within performance budget and quality expectations. This work will be performed under minimal supervision.
  • PMP certification preferred, equivalent structured PM experience required
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in CAPEX project management in an industrial setting; including within the metals rolling industry
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to transfer technical information into layman’s terms for complete communication
  • Must have ability to write technically oriented reports that are understood by all stakeholders
  • Ability to work with a broad cross section of people from upper managers, hourly work force and internal and external customers within operational and technical depts
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and establish appropriate priority
  • General understanding of MS-Office Products (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)


What You'll Be Doing

:
Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Implement the general project organization
  • Form the Integrated Team together with the Client (organization chart, RASCI, etc.)
  • Generate project definitions and justifications with the associated stakeholders to the required level of detail as prescribed by the Business Units
  • Implement the Engineering activities during the Preparation Phase (P) for passing “Conceptual Engineering” and “Project definition” Gates including, in particular:
    • The design criteria VIP (basic data list) the PEP (Project Execution Plan) with the associated documents for the project content (drawings, specifications, schedule, costs, etc.)
    • The Project Management Plan (PMP)
    • The project risk analysis , EHS review and Follow-up of Corrective Measures table
    • The VIPs geared to the project
  • Implement Engineering activities during the Execution phase (E) for passing assigned Gates including, in particular, updating documents drawn up for phase E Technical skills requirement
