Custom Fabricating & Repair, Inc. (CFR) is offering another great opportunity to join our team at our Marshfield, WI campus! CFR is a second-generation privately owned company and a leader in driving innovation and technology in the dairy and food industry. Job Type: Project Manager (Engineering Dept.)/Full-Time non-exempt

Pay: $70,000 -$130,000 annually

Overview:

The Project Manager is responsible for leading a project from receipt of order through sign off from the customer. This is accomplished with a coordinated effort of team members with proven experience from within the organization. The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing that all project requirements, deadlines, and schedules are met on track. Primary responsibility will be to understand all aspects and phases of the project to accomplish the customer's goals while protecting and promoting the interests of Custom Fabricating and Repair, Inc. in all matters.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Adhere to CFR’s safe work policies and practices, and wear appropriate PPE for duties being performed.
  • Must have the ability to travel to site to familiarize to project(s) as needed. Travel is approximately 30% but can vary.
  • Ability to interface effectively with multiple departments. Must maintain clear and active communication with department managers from the service, manufacturing, controls & automation, sales & marketing, and field installation departments to ensure project cohesiveness
  • Take initiative and problem solve to address and adapt to unforeseen challenges or opportunities for clients
  • Prepare and distribute submittals to customers for approvals
  • Oversee project deliverables and coordinating development of user manuals, training materials, and other documents as needed to enable successful implementation and turnover of the process or system to the clients
  • Manage project specific materials and equipment purchases to include sourcing/ordering, and maintaining vendor relations
  • Develop project specific safety programs in coordination with Safety Manager
  • Prepare and submit Change Orders to the customer
  • Attend project meetings with general contractor, owner, architect, and others as needed
  • Directly responsible for estimating manpower requirements on the jobsite
  • Review all Bills of Materials (BOMs) for accuracy
  • Lead, monitor, and review quality and performance results
  • Lead, monitor and review all drawings and make applicable recommendations for manufacturing improvements
  • Utilize proprietary software as well as other engineering skills and knowledge to assure that work product meets design criterion and operating conditions as needed.
  • Review of key documents including but not limited to owner's manuals, spare part lists, spare parts diagrams, and safety training documentation
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven track record as a project manager. Experience in the dairy, food, and beverage industry is preferred and candidates with this background will be highly considered
  • The ability to read and interpret Process & Instrumentation Diagram
  • Understanding of how design impacts manufacturing processes, machining, and production routing.
  • Experience with AutoCAD 2D
  • Proficiency with PC and Windows Operating System, Microsoft Office, and other management software
  • Ability to problem solve and make decisions without close supervision.
  • Must be self-motivated, accurate, efficient and capable of responding to customer needs.
  • Ability to be decisive and self-controlled in high pressure situations
  • Strong math skills and the ability to grasp new concepts quickly.
  • Great written and oral communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with AutoCAD 3D
  • Experience with process control mechanisms, instrumentation and other components
  • Experience with sizing and specifying process equipment to process design requirements
  • B.S. degree in Engineering or related degree preferred. Vocational or equivalent technical education or equivalent experience in related fields
