This position reports to the Chief Engineer and is located at Crimson Oak Grove Resources in Adger, AL. We are seeking hard working, motivated individuals. If you are interested in pursuing a career with great potential, we want you!

Provide Engineering support for underground mines, which include defining project specifications, bid documents and overall project management primarily associated with surface facilities such as air shafts, fans, and boreholes. Develop and prepare information necessary for environmental and safety permit preparation.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate the designing and installation of facilities and equipment such as shaft sites, mine fans, water treatment facilities, dewater boreholes, water lines, methane degas boreholes, power boreholes and access roads
• Work with draftsman to develop construction plans
• Coordinate execution of construction plans with frontline supervisors and construction crews. Prepare budgets and track costs, requisitions, and purchase order status. Interact with contractors from the bidding process through to project completion, including monitoring of contractor performance and safety compliance
• Provide plans for preparation and certification of environmental permits for all projects
• Work with mine management and operations in planning and defining new capital projects, developing cost estimates, purchasing engineering and construction services, and managing construction contracts to execute the work

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum five to seven (5-7) years of related experience in mine operations
• Requires good communication, supervisory and project management skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• Thorough knowledge of general mining practices, and State and Federal mining laws

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age
• High School Diploma or GED, preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mining Engineering or a related field, required
• Professional Engineer registration or FE, preferred
• Reliable transportation
• Regular and punctual attendance
• Requires a strong understanding of mine operations including underground mine ventilation, analytic skills and knowledge of environmental and safety regulations
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to successfully complete industry approved training courses
• Computer skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel and AutoCAD
• Excellent problem-solving skills, and the knowledge and ability to make decisions relative to safety, production, maintenance, and law
• Must be able to work safely and effectively as part of a team or independently
• Must be able to successfully pass a post-offer drug test and background check
• Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship

JOB SCHEDULE AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Must be able to work overtime, weekends and holidays as schedule requires (subject to applicant’s religious practices)
• Must be able to work a rotating shift schedule (subject to the applicant’s religious practices)
• Requires travel into underground mine, surface construction sites, and preparation plants
• Ability to lift floor-to-waist and waist-to-overhead
• Ability to push/pull as needed
• Standing, bending, step climbing, crawling and working overhead
• Ability to perform heavy labor and lift 50+ pounds as needed
