What You'll Be Doing

The Project Administrator for HealthLit4Wake, will be supported through the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Minority Health grant entitled Advancing Health Literacy to Enhance Equitable Community Responses to COVID-19.

This position will report to the COVID-19 Community Outreach and Engagement Manager/Project Administrator and will carry out the expectations of this Initiative. This position will manage a team that works to support stakeholder engagement, partnership management, health literacy messaging, and seed-funding to address COVID-19 health literacy. In doing so, this role provides complex project management, development, and evaluation for senior management?that results in measurable outcomes for Wake County Health Human Services programs and community partners. The successful applicant will have a track record demonstrating their ability to effectively partner with multiple sectors and manage complex projects involving public health, race and health equity, and health literacy.

Responsibilities:
Serve as the Project Manager, under the leadership of the COVID-19 Community Outreach and Engagement Manager, manage a project coordinator for diversity and equity, a communications consultant and a program assistant
Create and implement a comprehensive workplan for this award and be well-versed in the implementation of OMH awards
Manage the day-to-day operations of the HealthLit4Wake project
Develop strategy for implementing seed-funding awards, in conjunction with the project team and community partners
Provide guidance to project team on the development of monitoring and evaluation plans, as well as other reporting requirements for the award

Note: This is a 2 year grant funded position.

NOTE: Wake County Health Human Services employees are required to be in their current role for a minimum of one (1) year to be eligible to apply for another Health Human Services position. The Basics (Required Education and Experience)
Bachelor's degree
Two years of job-related experience
Equivalent education and experience are accepted
Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience)
Master’s degree in Public Health or a related field year of relevant professional experience
Subject-matter expertise on the following topics: health literacy, implicit bias, racism, and COVID-19 is strongly preferred
Skilled in group facilitation and strategic planning
Demonstrated capacity and ability to manage start-up initiatives and determination to achieve outcomes
Sensitive to the interests of diverse community members, stakeholder groups, strategic partners, elected officials, and colleagues
Understanding of DHHS awards or other USD funding
Commitment to and connection with Wake County communities who experience inequities
How Will We Know You're 'The One'?
Demonstrated professional background in health and ability to develop plans that address health disparities
Knowledge of COVID-19 and mitigation strategies
Knowledge of service evaluation and data collection
Experience working with a culturally diverse population
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to manage flexible project and staff schedules

Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:30 am - 5:15 pm

Hiring Range: $52,385 - $70,721 Commensurate with Experience
