At the Emory Centers for Public Health Training and Technical Assistance (Emory Centers), we help our clients and their partners develop the professional skills, evidence-based programs, and policy action needed to build healthier communities. Housed within the Rollins School of Public Health, Emory Centers provides innovative trainings, technical assistance, and materials to build the knowledge and skills to foster strong leadership, increase organizational capacity, and strengthen partnerships. Our clients include state and local departments of health, non-profit organizations, and foundations. Our services span across all public health issues, risk factors, and professional competencies. Our four dedicated subcenters have provided capacity-building and community mobilization services in all 50 states and territories over the last 20 years.
This position will serve as a key member of the Emory Centers’ Engaging Communities and Organizations Ready for Excellence (EnCORE) Center. EnCORE is aimed at providing personalized and localized capacity development to community organizations and public-private partners working to advance health equity through capacity building. The EnCORE center houses the Emory COMPASS Coordinating center, a part of the Gilead COMPASS Initiative which aims to address the HIV/AIDS epidemic in the southern US by empowering local community organizations to meet the needs of people living with and impacted by HIV/AIDS. JOB DESCRIPTION:
  • Primary duties are organizing, coordinating, and planning operational facets of a program and its related activities which include, but are not limited to the following: establishing long-term operational objectives, researching factors that may impact the success of the program, and working with individuals or groups to research and document program requirements in order to provide appropriate input into the development of strategic plans.
  • Develops work plans to accomplish program goals and objectives and monitors progress toward their achievement.
  • Conducts research and gathers information to develop various publications.
  • Develops promotional materials which may include content for reports, briefings, newsletters, grants or other written information related to the program.
  • Assists in developing and coordinating program-related conferences, conventions, or meetings.
  • Monitors expenditures and may participate in the budget planning process and prepare financial reports.
  • May assist in identifying funding resources and developing fund-raising strategies and initiatives.
  • Prepares operational and statistical reports.
  • Conducts training, represents the program at meetings and conferences, and networks with affiliated groups.
  • May supervise assigned project staff, interns and/or volunteers.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.
  • This is not an administrative support position.
ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:

The role of the Program Coordinator is to assist the Capacity Building Manager with the development, implementation, and evaluation of training and technical assistance programs. The Program Coordinator will help coordinate the Center’s in-person and online programmatic activities, including assisting with the development of all learning tools (toolkits, webinars, session materials, etc.), facilitation of e-learning activities, and management of our grantees in the role as Project Officer. The Program Coordinator also:
  • Provides proactive customer service to all prospective and current individuals or groups interacting with the Center.
  • Assists with the identification and management of a consultant/SME database to be shared with community partners for TA support.
  • Coordinates a capacity building webinar series including identifying and coordinating speakers for the webinar series and monitoring and ensuring the submission and return of speaker agreements and invoices.
  • Provides support in the development of webinar materials.
  • Ensures appropriate and accurate data is collected relative to webinar statistics and outcomes.
  • Helps coordinate the activities of our advisory board and the logistics for board meetings, including agenda, travel arrangements, space, and on-line meetings; maintains contact with advisory board members.
  • Assists in developing an agenda and plan for advisory board activities.
  • Assists in developing partnerships, developing and conducting programs, and may serve on special projects or activities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in a field related to the program and two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University location as needed. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
