Location- Remote- Must live in or near the NJ/PA, Philadelphia area!

GENERAL SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Program Director and in coordination with the Executive Director, the Program Coordinator is responsible for supporting the successful execution of program activities within the Eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey market. The role will have a special focus on program implementation support including community outreach, marketing and communications, and volunteer recruitment.

This relationship should be characterized by effective communications, a positive attitude toward the growth of the Foundation and the achievement of its mission, through mutual understanding of the goals and development objectives of the National Organization.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with all aspects of planning and implementation of signature programs within the Eastern PA & New Jersey market, including but not limited to; patient and community education such as Your Kidneys and You program and World Kidney Day/National Kidney Month activities, transplant education such as Big Ask Big Give program, and professional education such as Fellow Symposium and Renal Roundtables.
  • Create relevant internal and external program communication content including, but not limited to, invitations, email messaging, marketing materials, local website updates, and social media content.
  • Facilitate inquiries from patients, community partners, and the general public for resources and presentation requests. Coordinate and lead speaking opportunities, event participation such as tabling opportunities, and supply of education materials and their distribution, as needed.
  • Research and cultivate potential partnerships within community to facilitate and support the delivery of local programs and enhance health equity.
  • Work in collaboration with program and development staff to research and secure funding for local programs. Assist with processing donations through NKF fundraising database, as needed.
  • Recruit, train, and manage volunteers for programmatic activities.
  • Attend and assist with components for fundraising events, as assigned.
  • Performs additional duties and special projects, as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum 2 years of job-related experience.
  • Experience in community outreach, public education, and/or a non-profit health agency is preferred.
  • Professional demeanor, adherence to the rules of confidentiality, and an ethic of respect for patients and volunteers.
  • Experience coordinating special events and programs.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and function independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications.
  • Must have reliable transportation and be flexible to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Bi-lingual Spanish/English a strong plus.


WORKING CONDITIONS, EQUIPMENT USED AND SPECIAL INFORMATION

Must have unimpeachable integrity and trustworthiness while possessing a high degree of tact, discretion, and professionalism. Verbal and written communication skills will be used daily. Maintain effectiveness under pressure. Competency in use of a multiple-line telephone, personal computer, fax machine, photocopier, and other standard office equipment. Ability to lift and transport equipment weighing up to 25 lbs. Flexible to work evenings and weekends as needed. Available for overnight business travel. Must have a valid driver’s license.
