Summary: The Manufacturing Supervisor shall carry out all assigned production functions within their area while establishing and maintaining a culture that embraces continuous improvement, cycle time waste reduction, lean production techniques, quality, safety, and employee involvement. The supervisor shall provide coaching and training to their team regarding quality, environmental, and safety policies, procedures, and work instructions. This shall include identifying the training needs of their team and developing the training methods, materials, and schedules. Report training and team member qualifications as required utilizing the Skills and Versatility Matrix. This position has the responsibility of identifying and meeting production requirements, developing and implementing daily production schedules based on customer orders, and maintaining a culture of quality and safety while following all applicable laws, policies, and objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Meet established requirements for production, i.e., making the product to customer specifications, and meeting scheduled shipping dates.
  • Meet established quality goals and standards.
  • Ensure all staff always practice safe work habits.
  • Maintain 5S standards in his/her area of direct responsibility.
  • Provide leadership and direction to employees under his/her direct responsibility.
  • Work with the management team on customer complaints, quality issues, Non-conformance issues, process control, continuous improvement, Kaizen activities, and all policies and requirements of the governing version of the current ISO certification.
  • Oversee the flow of products through his/her area of responsibility.
  • Embrace lean production techniques and work closely to implement such changes on a timely basis.
  • Supervisory responsibility includes management of employee performance, hiring participation, time and attendance administration, discipline, development, and recourse planning.
  • Develop, analyze, and present monthly reports as required, including but not limited to forecasts, productivity, and safety.
  • Complete all employee reviews with an emphasis on the performance and development of the team.
  • Facilitate team development and growth, employee skill development, problem-solving, and resolution, building employee commitment and ownership, and holding employees accountable.
  • Drive safety excellence through promoting employee involvement, ownership, and accountability to proactively eliminate hazards.
  • Assist with troubleshooting production issues.
  • Provide safety training to crew members.
  • Provide coaching; team development/performance management.
  • Complete data entry responsibilities and generate reports.
  • In conjunction with other production supervisors, ensures daily pay period completion of all timecards, and preapproval prior to submission to payroll.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Must have a solid working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the ability to learn various PC-based production reporting systems applications.
  • Must be able and willing to work safely, and adhere to all safety rules and regulations, including wearing and using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Must be able and willing to work flexible work schedules and department changes.
  • Sound judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong sense of urgency
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Hydraulic hose and/or tubing experience a plus

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Two (2) or more years of supervisory experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • The employee is regularly required to stand and walk.
  • This employee is frequently required to interpret numerical and alpha letterings and match accordingly to pick lists.
  • The employee must frequently move up to 50 pounds.

Pay: $50,068.17 - $78,828.35 per year
