What we need...

The Production Operators primary responsibility is work as a member of a team to safely and efficiently unload / load various types of commodities to and from ships, rail cars, or within the facility. This position requires consistent outside work, exposure to the elements, and schedule flexibility. Regular hours for this position can vary between 7 am and 5 pm, Monday through Friday and will require some overtime and weekend work at times.

What you'd do...

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned)

Safety

  • Adhere to company safety policies and watch out for the safety of others
  • Understand and follow operating procedures and safety policies
  • Ability to perform work safely and productively with others

Grain handling

  • Assist with the unloading and loading of various raw grain commodities
  • Perform housekeeping activities (sweeping, shoveling, cleaning)
  • Assist with other general duties within the facility (general maintenance, landscaping)
  • Operate railcar loading / unloading systems and equipment
  • Operate ship loading / unloading systems and equipment
  • Operate mobile equipment safely including trucks, frontend loader and locomotive

EDUCATION/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from the facility (which is not easily accessible by public transportation)
  • Fluent in English at a level to be able to communicate with customers and colleagues as well as able to read and understand procedures and policies
  • Willingness to work outside in various weather conditions
  • Basic math skills
  • Computer skills for light data entry
  • Strong communication skills
  • Willing to work flexible hours and weekends as necessary
  • As a part of the pre-employment selection process, candidates are required to submit to and receive satisfactory results from all pre-employment criminal background, drug, and employment verification checks

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to repetitively climb up and down railcars/ladders safely, walk up and down steps, and work at heights, sweep, and shovel grain
  • Ability to work outside, including in inclement weather
  • Can carry at least fifty (50) pounds
  • Able to stand and walk for the majority of each shift
