BRIEF SUMMARY OF ROLE

The Production Manager shall be responsible for the planning, coordination and control of manufacturing processes. They shall ensure that goods and services are produced efficiently and that the correct amount is produced at the right cost and level of quality. The scope of the job entails the process, procedures, and staffing utilized across the facility to get the work completed at the most cost effective and optimized level. The Production Manager shall be responsible for both personnel and material resources across the facility.

Responsible for the production process, drawing up a production schedule and executing it

Ensuring that the production is cost effective

Making sure that products are produced on time and are of good quality

Working out the human and material resources needed

Drafting a timescale for the job and updating standards accordingly

Estimating costs and setting the quality standards

Monitoring the production processes and adjusting schedules as needed

Monitoring product standards and implementing quality-control programs

Liaising among different departments, e.g. suppliers, managers, operators

Working with managers to implement the company's policies and goals

Ensuring that health and safety guidelines are followed

Supervising and motivating a team of workers

Reviewing worker performance

Implementing production efficiency programs to optimize performance

Identifying training needs

Dispose of trash and recyclables in appropriate containers.

Maintain a neat and orderly work area.

Notify Management of “Change” as it relates to Environment, Health, and Safety.

Conduct all work activity to ISO 9001 and SQF standards and procedures.

Key Roles

· A Production Manager is responsible for the pre-production (planning) stage as well as the production (control and supervision) stage.

· Production Manager must deliver results through the optimal use of all resources including people, manufacturing process, materials management, and commercial engagement within the business to promote revenue growth and cost improvement efforts.

· Production Managers are involved with product design and purchasing. To support product launches, drive down product cost, and meet/exceed customer expectations.

Position Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree or 10 years of related manufacturing experience, preferably in Business or Engineering related field

· Experience in high volume manufacturing environment, preferably in adhesive roll / die coating, laminating, and die cutting

· Experience of 3-5 years related in Lean and Six Sigma methodologies in various manufacturing environments

· Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Tools

· Previous supervisory and / or management responsibility for office or hourly personnel

Preferred Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a Business or Engineering related field

· Experience with Kaizen events and training

· Experience with Supply Management and Supplier Quality Assurance

· Implementation experience with SPC and process capability

· Certified Six Sigma Belt

· Certified Lean Practitioner

· At a minimum, complete and understand the following training courses:

o Onboarding training

o Forklift Training

o Emergency Response and Evacuation Procedure

o Lockout / Tag Out

o HAZCOM

o Voluntary Use of Respirator

o ISO 9001 training

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
