Production Manager

Summary: This position will manage the staff and processes to meet the Company’s Production needs in the ink, lam, print, quality, tubing, and maintenance departments. The Shift Manager will also provide technical consultation and coordination of designated Production related projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Staff Management (10%) Supervise Production department and direct workflow of Staff through Supervisors and Lead Hands. Manage and develop Supervisors and Lead Hands.

· Ensure personnel are properly trained/re-trained on all components of individual position

· Develop Supervisor and Lead Hand skills, conduct performance evaluations and development plans for personnel

· Plan and implement procedures and systems to maximize operating efficiency.

· Manage staffing levels, communicate, performance requirements for current staff and new hires and delegate work duties to staff to attain objectives.

· Interview, select and orient new employees

· Monitor and administer the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Provide suggestions for improvement for next bargaining session.

Production Management (40%): Manage the day-to-day activities associated with Production, including staff, equipment, and facilities.

· Day-to-day management of Production, meeting production standards and producing what is scheduled.

· Coordinate with Quality Control to ensure product standards are monitored, achieved, analyzed, and evaluated for improvement

· Analyze Daily, Weekly and Monthly Production figures and identify opportunities for increased productivity

· Manage the 2nd shift repairs and preventative maintenance on equipment and facilities

· Manage the ink room and staff.

· Monitor quality of raw materials and provide rapid feedback and corrective action on any quality issues discovered.

· Ensure coordination between shifts, overlapping a minimum of 2 hours with 1st shift.

· Identify issues between shifts and take corrective action to solve them.

Safety Management: (10%) Oversee and manage the day-to-day productions to ensure a safe operation

· Active member of Safety Committee as required.

· Fire Safety Site Coordinator.

· Monitor supervisors & lead hands to ensure their staff are utilizing proper equipment and safe working procedures.

· Conduct safety audits and follow-up on findings to ensure that issues are properly addressed.

· Meet company safety targets for accident and lost time.

· Ensure implementation and adherence to health and safety procedure.

Projects (30%)

· Develop, organize, and implement production standards and SOPs with a focus on safety and productivity.

· Participate in and/or manage plant or production related projects as required.

· Constantly looking to identify problems in print and lamination and take corrective action to solve them.

Profitability (10%)

· Share responsibility for meeting or exceeding the company’s targets for production efficiency, scrap, credits, and cost of accidents, and other similar factors.

QUALIIFICATIONS

Skills:

· Troubleshooting and analytical skills

· Organizational skills

· Computer skills (Outlook, Excel)

· Good color acuity

· Reasonable, rational, and logical approach to problem solving

· Bilingual – English/Spanish

· Strong interpersonal skills

· Minimum 3 years of experience in printing

Education/Experience:

· Minimum of 5 years management experience in a manufacturing environment

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $73,976.00 - $80,052.00 per year
