Chang Shing Tofu Co., currently headquartered in East Cambridge, MA, is a manufacturer of tofu that is sold to foodservice, supermarkets and restaurants. Recent growth has resulted in the need to expand its production department in anticipation of new plant expansion and relocation to Stoughton, MA in 2023. This position will work with the President on positioning the company for continued growth. SUMMARY

The Production Manager is responsible for all daily manufacturing operations including production, maintenance, quality, warehouse, logistics, planning, and other tofu production-related activities. This is a hands-on position that is responsible for insuring production efficiencies, lowest costs, and assure quality within the standards of corporate, state, and federal guidelines. The Manager will direct, coach and mentor staff to apply methods to use personnel and capital resources to best meet production goals. Budgetary responsibility includes oversight of the facility's processes and activities to achieve KPI's across multiple categories including labor, waste, quality, costs, efficiencies, safety, etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise the production operations of required shifts.
  • Lead, motivate and train employees to achieve production results, improve individual skills, and enhance teamwork.
  • Conduct team meetings, motivate personnel, and manage conflict resolution.
  • Maintain and manage weekly staffing levels and schedule.
  • Understand and optimize labor distribution to achieve and exceed corporate goals.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety policies, regulations, and state & federal regulatory requirements.
  • Provide requisite training to new hires as necessary as well as training of current employees of new process workflows and designs.
  • Optimize resources and develop best practices to ensure smooth production flow to meet and exceed business demands.
  • Thorough knowledge of the production lines including associated equipment and related jobs.
  • Recommend new equipment and processes to achieve increased cost-effective efficiencies.
  • As part of Continuous Improvement program, make unsolicited recommendations for improving any and all areas of production.
  • Ensure proper implementation, training, and adherence to established procedures, GMP’s and employee safety practices.
  • Participate in quality assurance coordinating tasks to achieve goals in time management and production.
  • Maintain the coordination and collaboration of plant departments.
  • Enforce systems, policies, and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • College degree preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years managing in a food manufacturing environment. Only applicants with food manufacturing experience will be considered.
  • Strong, solution-driven technical background in manufacturing, operations and engineering.
