Chevron is accepting online applications for the position Trading Analytics Product Owner through 5/26/2023 at 11:59 p.m. (CST).
The Trading Analytics Product Owner supports the analysis and coordination of S&T's digital business solutions, accompanying support structure, process, and governance models, and drives continuous improvement and innovation across the global S&T organization, with particular focus on global Analytics within Trading Center of Excellence, Data & Insights. Partner closely with the business to ensure our work is valued and prioritized by the business. Provide oversight for a delivery team focused on data driven business solution by enabling both 1) Business self-service data solutions that provide data to the business in most effective avenues and 2) Business Intelligence (BI) reporting/visualizations in support of Analytics or Data Science projects. This team will work across Refined Products, Crude, NGLs (Natural Gas Liquids), Natural Gas, LNGs, etc. and across the Globe. The team will focus on the moving, preparing, and serving of Trading data or data reporting/visualizations.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
  • Build strong business partnerships and networks to ensure our work is valued and prioritized by the business. We can develop your business OC in Commodity Markets, Supply Demand Balances, Trade flows, Market Arbitrage, etc. and develop a moderate understanding of the IT tools leveraged by the team.
  • Lead the team in holistic delivery of data analytics solutions, accompanying support structure, process, and governance models, and drive continuous improvement and innovation for the global S&T organization within the functional line/region. This role encompasses Business Engagement/Consulting, Problem framing, and team management.
  • Understand key Trading business strategies and needs, required business capabilities, and translate to appropriate requirements for solutioning. Align with the business and Global Advisors on objectives and actions.
  • Understand key business processes and how technology solutions enable, change, or impact those processes.
  • Responsible for delivery, backlog refinement & prioritization, feature & story descriptions, and acceptance criteria.
  • Work with team members to ensure timely delivery of business value, utilizing various agile ceremonies and tools (Daily Stand-up, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, Program Increment planning, ADO, etc.). Own the Product backlog and Feature(s). Understand and support inter-team dependencies, and escalate issues when necessary
  • Work in a dynamic, fast paced environment to deliver Prototypes, POC (Proof of Concepts), MVPs (Minimum Viable Product), & future functionality
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both the business and IT (Information Technology) development personnel
  • Work with Product Manager/Global Advisor to refine and update product roadmap, aligned with the Management System Cycle (MSC) process to sequence and deliver business value/capabilities

Required Qualifications:
  • Deliver driven and able to lead and communicate
  • Strong business network building capabilities
  • BS Degree
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Trading domain knowledge, business and/or systems (RightAngle or Endur)
  • Experience in product management (backlog management, writing feature, etc.)
  • Inquisitive natured (desire to learn new things; trading, markets, technologies & techniques)
  • Awareness of Chevron Data Architecture Standards (CDAS)
  • Understanding of new IT Operating Model – Digital Platforms, Chapters, etc.
  • Experience in building of Business Intelligence (BI) solutions using Power BI, Spotfire, other
  • SQL coding or programming languages
  • Familiarity with Azure Cloud tools and technologies (ADF (Azure Data Factory), Pipelines, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps (ADO) tool for work management
  • Practitioner of Agile/SAFe practices
