Summary

Reporting directly to the Director of Global Air-Cooled Product Management, the Product Manager will gather and analyze industry trends and influences, voice of customer data, and stakeholder feedback to establish product roadmaps, strategies, and priorities for product development. This role will also be responsible to help vet and cultivate innovative opportunities, establish solid business cases and strategies for product concepts, and ensuring successful product launches and sales growth, including product life-cycle management.
This is a highly strategic role and will require cross-functional collaboration and coordination across various businesses within Carrier Commercial HVAC.
Responsibilities
  • Collects and analyzes macro economics, industry and target market information to forecast the market size of commercial air-cooled chillers & Heat pumps.
  • Conducts competitive product analysis, and market research of product consumer behavior (for different vertical segments) and professional audience to develop product requirements and specifications.
  • Collects and tracks regional/geographical regulatory trends (related to but not limited to refrigerants, minimum efficiency, building codes, etc.)
  • Coordinates or participates in promotional activities or trade shows, working with developers, advertisers, or production managers, to market products or services.
  • Identifies, develops, and implements near-term and mid-term business strategies relating to the development of new Air-cooled chillers & heat pumps, technologies, services, follow-on products, and/or industries to ensure profitability and positioning in the market.
  • Initiates and prioritizes projects, tracks product development and develops product launch plans to effectively manage a product category's life cycle and ensure profitability.
  • Support Strategic pre-sales meetings with high-level global customers on large chiller systems
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years of experience in hardware product management
  • 1+ years of experience in presenting product demonstrations
  • 1+ years of experience in gathering & analyzing data
  • Ability to Travel 25% international & domestic
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
  • Experience in the HVAC, Aerospace, Electronics Manufacturing, and/or Medical Device industries
  • Global / International working experience
  • Experience with marketing activities (like branding management, sales tools development, and promotional videos)
  • Exceptional ability presenting and speaking in front of a large variety of audiences
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to adeptly demonstrate products
  • Ability to communicate with customers and co-workers at various levels within an organization
  • Analytical mindset and data driven decision making required.
  • Capacity for empathy and the ability to relate to, understand and weigh the interests of a variety of audiences simultaneously
