Northrop Grumman Space Systems is currently recruiting for a Facilities Designer to join our team at the Clearfield, Utah location.

Job Description:

Candidate will be responsible for the concept and layout of tooling, machine, construction and fabrication drawings per Facility Engineer’s requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Create accurate 3D CAD models and drawing views of mechanical parts and assemblies.

  • Create proper annotation and dimensioning in drawings and models.

  • Prepare working and other construction drawings related to piping, P&IDs, HVAC, electrical, architectural, structural, and civil drafting.

  • Capable of reading and understanding blueprints from outside engineering firms and vendors.

  • Interface with review team to assure customer satisfaction with design.

  • Ensure construction documents accuracy and clarity, including checking for drawing completeness before issuing and follow up to ensure that drawings were received and are satisfactory.

  • Review engineering drawings and designs for accuracy, manufacturability and constructability.

  • Support continuous improvement.

  • Support Operations and Process Engineering in the use of all facilities and equipment.

Requirements:

  • Technical experience in design and drafting using Siemens NX, CATIA, and AutoCAD software.

  • BS - Design Technology with 2 years technical experience in design and drafting, or

  • AS - Design Technology with 4 years technical experience in design and drafting, or

  • 7 years of technical experience in design and drafting.

  • Position may be filled at higher level requiring:

  • BS - Design Technology with 5 years technical experience in design and drafting, or

  • AS - Design Technology with 6 years technical experience in design and drafting, or

  • 9 years of technical experience in design and drafting.

  • Experience in Solidworks or Autodesk Inventor is desired but not required.

Technical Skills:

Strong candidates for this position will possess:

  • Desire, i.e. passion, to generate complete and accurate drawings to support the manufacture of flight hardware.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills in managing time, projects and resources.

  • Leadership ability.

  • Technical attention to details

  • General understanding of industry standard fabrication practices.

  • Interest/background in mechanical/machine design

This position reports to Clearfield, UT, USA, however, you are able to work from any of the additional 2 locations listed above.



Salary Range: $66,600 USD - $99,800 USD
Salary Range 2: $82,000 USD - $123,000 USD


Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
