Regular working hours are 9am-9pm or as needed and we are flexible with your schedule. A 30 min clocked-out lunch is required.

Must be reliable and team oriented. You may be cross-trained depending on business needs. This means you could be helping in laundry or in housekeeping if business requires.

Must be able to stay on task when you are working alone. Timeliness and untimeliness will be observed and checked.

Inspects, maintains, and repairs all mechanical, electrical, and other equipment used by the guests or affecting the quality of their experience while visiting the property.

Creates a safe and attractive environment for guests and associates by ensuring the hotel is maintained in accordance with safety standards.

Completes hotel room and building repairs such as replacing ceiling tiles, filters, light bulbs, drywall patching, and painting. Performs repairs on toilets, sinks, laundry facilities, kitchen and other hotel property.

Maintains safety and cleanliness of the exterior of the hotel, grounds, pool and exercise room.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Mechanical aptitude preferred but will train the right individual.

Helpful Experience:

• Knowledge of basic electrical and plumbing maintenance.
• Basic drywall repair and painting experience/knowledge.
• Landscaping, and lawn care.
• Experience with general maintenance tools.
• Troubleshooting ability with skills in painting, HVAC, and carpentry.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to push, pull, bend, stoop, and reach upward.
• Ability to tolerate exposure to extreme temperatures and cleaning chemicals.
• Ability to communicate effectively with guests and coworkers.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays if business requires.

The Preventative Maintenance Tech is primarily responsible for the inspection of rooms and bringing them up to Best Western Plus standards. We expect honesty, integrity, a willingness to learn, and the ability to take criticism where we believe there is room for improvement. Your work WILL be inspected and graded.
