Lead Toddler Teacher
Responsibilities:
This position requires lesson planning using the state standards as well as the developmental level of the children in the classroom. The candidate must be able to observe children and gather enough information to understand children's developmental levels. The lead teacher must develop and implement lesson plans each day based on observations, develop positive relationships with staff, parents and children. This position requires cleaning practices in order to maintain order in the classroom. Staff are required to be partners in play with children thus staff must be able to get on the floor or at children's level.
Experience:
- At least one year of childcare experience preferred
- At least one year of experience at a lead teacher
Education:
- High school diploma
- Associates degree or higher in early childhood or child related field preferred
- Must be Michigan Licensing Lead teacher qualified
Physical abilities:
- Able to get on and off the floor easily
- Pick up a child weighing 30-70 pounds
- Walk long distances (more and two miles)
- Carry children if needed
- Push a crib of children out of the building in an emergency
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
