SSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
  • With the management team, drive the development of the appropriate work place culture.
  • Advises personnel in policy and program matters, making or recommending appropriate decisions.
  • Recruits and screens qualified personnel with the assistance of supervision and management to meet labor requirements.
  • Responsible for establishing training programs for hourly and management personnel.
  • Responds to problems on which employees may seek advice.
  • Conducts area wage and/or benefit surveys, analyze results and make recommendations to meet overall business needs.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of all personnel files and related records to meet both company and legal needs.
  • Responsible for budgets and business planning for department and responsible for establishing and meeting department goals and objectives.
  • Is instrumental in promoting a safe and fair work place environment.
  • Monitors job performance review process with management personnel.
  • Serves as plant administrative and educational resource for federal, state and local laws as they relate to employment, safety and EEO.
  • Plans and coordinates work, trains and motivates, monitors and evaluates performance of administrative direct reports; counsels, records, and disciplines as necessary.
  • Serves as plant resource for administration and education regarding all company policies, procedures and benefits; including SQF/HACCP policies.
  • Shares responsibility with Maintenance Manager to ensure plant compliance with OSHA standards and reporting requirements.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • A college degree in related field; and 6+ years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of three years of previous supervisory or management experience required.
  • Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to be responsive and persuasive at all levels of the organization.
  • Must have strong Microsoft Office experience, with particular expertise in Excel
  • Be knowledgeable of general human resource concepts and legal requirements.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment within defined practices and policies.
  • Demonstrate a high level of confidentiality.
