The Certified Pharmacy Technician is responsible for providing support and assistance to ESP clinical staff in the management of medication ordering and delivery. Responsible for the morale and recognition of the team. Works to build teamwork at all levels. Works with technicians to coordinate the daily production of assigned functions including narcotics and/or compliance. Knowledgeable of department metrics and productivity levels. Provides regular and timely feedback to colleagues regarding their performance. Promotes a sense of “teamwork” through demonstration of self-direction and self-motivation. Solves problems independently or knows when to seek consultation. Full-Time position, Monday-Friday and will include days, evenings, and weekend rotations.
Job Description:
  • Function as liaison between the pharmacy and the ESP interdisciplinary team to assure timely exchange of information as it relates to new orders and routine refills and meds -on–time.
  • Will rotate between the day centers to accommodate MOT weeks at each site. Assist with preparation and coordination of distribution for monthly/weekly medications.
  • Assist nursing staff with maintenance of med closet. Rotate stock and check expiration dates. Order, replace, and maintain appropriate inventory & supplies as needed.
  • Manage the ESP pharmacy refill line.
  • Participate in ESP Quality Programs and special projects.

Requirements and Qualifications:
  • HS/GED.
  • Current valid and unrestricted certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board of the Institute for the Certification of Pharmacy Technician.
  • Current valid and unrestricted pharmacy technician license from the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Pharmacy.
  • At least one year of experience working with a geriatric population.
