Date of Hire: Immediately (full-time)
Salary: $50,000-$55,000 DOE

About:
Arizona Center for Empowerment (ACE) is seeking full-time field organizers for an issue-based revenue-raising campaign to ensure that Arizona restores state funding for public services that have been completely defunded by state governments. For decades Arizona has not prioritized education, affordable public housing, higher education, paid leave, and so on. Instead has prioritized tax cuts for already wealthy corporations. The Peoples First Economy Campaign educates, advocates, and will shift policy to restore Arizona revenue. The People’s First
Economy Campaign is rooted in long-term power building here in Arizona. It is rooted in building out and creating an Arizona that has been envisioned by radical visionary leaders that are a part of ACE and LUCHA.

Position Description:
This is a full-time position that requires building powerhouses of engaged, committed, and
PFE-READY leaders. Doing this by creating volunteer-led Neighborhood [LD] Teams of people to advance education, power analysis, and accountability, specifically, to advance our policy so that our state elected officials prioritize policies that restore state funding. Nonetheless, this position will protect and defend our state economy for working families at all costs and ensure we push a people-power-led/people’s first narrative for the future of Arizona, not the corporate, wealthy.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

● Work with the Campaign Manager to implement program strategy and be open to strategy changes.

● Build Volunteer-Led Neighborhood Teams to move elected officials to support PFE
Policy Priorities and hold them accountable by visibility actions (Paid Leave, Corporate
Accountability, Housing Affordability, and Accessibility, etc.)

● Recruit new volunteers in the community, schools, events, and neighborhoods and call to follow up.

● Coordinate phonebanks and canvassing for quarterly metric goals (membership, voter registrations, supporters, leaders developed, relationship building, etc.)

● Maintain an accurate database of volunteer involvement and clear next steps
● Conduct one-to-ones weekly to engage new/existing volunteers and partners
● Host Educational Money Talks to engage new community members
● Attend legislative hearings with volunteers, and willing to speak in front of audiences/media
● Submit weekly work plans and maintain and upload data on Every Action and Mobilize
● Host weekly or biweekly team meetings, facilitate group spaces/ presentations
● Assist organization's events in adding capacity or support with strategies for building alliances for overall LUCHA/ACE goals, including organizational electoral work and issue-based campaigns
● Grow organizational base and activate community
● Engage, coach, and develop leaders and members

Job Qualifications:

We are seeking candidates with excellent relationship-building skills, who are outcome-driven, with strong and diverse issue-advocacy skills. Ideal candidates should have demonstrated experience in the following:

● A commitment to social and racial justice issues
● Understanding challenges facing the New American Majority (Youth, People of Color and women)
● Solutions oriented and willing to adapt and be a risk taker
● Data driven, understanding and use of research to inform work
● Comfort with the implementation of a range of organizing strategies and tactics including phone banking, canvassing, and tabling
● Excellent communication skill and ability to work well with diverse groups and populations
● Experience developing and overseeing field plans to move targets, and great attention to detail for program evaluation and deliverables tracking
● Lead strategic direction of issue campaign
● Effectively build and lead a team, establish deep relationships with grassroots leaders
● Strong facilitation and training skills.
● Driver’s license and and reliable transportation
● Prefered Spanish and English knowledge (bilingual) but not necessary
● Knowledge of key issues that our organization currently works on, such as poverty, criminal justice reform, jobs, economic justice, immigration and/or other issues.
● Capacity and willingness to work long, flexible hours and to travel extensively (including weekends).
● Demonstrated ability to conceive and execute creative, breakthrough strategic initiatives to achieve goals.
● Willing to be coached and envision themselves in this fight long-term
