We are conveniently located throughout Long Island: in Lake Success and Port Jefferson Station, with affiliated locations in Riverhead, Setauket, and Southampton.

In this role you will:*

  • Administer radioactive chemical compounds.
  • Keep a track of safety measures to protect patients while performing scans. The reason to be careful or consider safety measures is that patients and operators are constantly exposed to rays.
  • Make sure that the equipment is in a proper working condition. Calibrate, maintain and troubleshoot radiologic equipment carefully.
  • Perform patient imaging procedures using sophisticated radiation-detecting instrumentation.
  • Accomplish computer processing and image enhancement.
  • Provide images, data analysis and patient information to the physician for diagnostic interpretation.
  • Monitor patients, conditions, and reactions during the scan, reporting abnormal signs to Physicians.
  • Perform complex PET exams, consulting with Radiologist for appropriate scan procedure.
  • Gain the patients confidence by obtaining pertinent history, describing the procedure and answering any questions
  • Monitor the patients physical condition during the course of the procedure.
  • Note any specific patient comments which might indicate the need for additional images or might be useful to the physician in interpreting the results of the procedure.

We require:

  • Diploma from a Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB and/or ARRT-N)(Required)
  • NMTCB(CT) and/or ARRT(CT)(Required)
  • NYS License required.
  • At least 2 years’ experience

Salary Up to $55 per hour
