• Quadriplegic woman looking for reliable conscientious attendant(s) to help with personal care and other daily life activities.

I live in Berkeley with another, close to shopping, BART and bus lines. I enjoy getting out as much as possible, to the garden, hikes, wildlife watching, and taking some short and long trips out of town. I enjoy meeting new people and visiting different places, learning about different cultures and lifestyles. When I’m able to, I’d like to leave the country for a bit. I’m considering relocating for part of the year if you’re interested in exploring that possibility. This is a long term job, possibly for the foreseeable future, most of my caregivers are with me for years some decades.

• I’m looking for help Friday through Monday mornings, evenings and nights. My schedule somewhat flexible and I can work around other schedules. Mornings 8:30-11:30, Evenings 6:00-8:00, nights 10:30-11:00, I may need more help as I work around a new schedule.

The morning routine involves: changing leg bags, range of motion stretches, preparing and helping me with breakfast, transferring me from bed to shower chair, showering, catheter and colostomy care, transferring to wheelchair, brushing teeth, making the bed and tidying up.Evenings:I need help with dinner, setting me up with something to watch or read. I like going out for sunsets sometimes.Nights: Help changing, brushing my teeth, transferring back to bed, setting me up with my iPad, and setting out water and meds for the night. Check to make sure everything's put away and in place and set up for me to access.

Occasionally I’ll need someone to drive me in my van to run errands, do shopping, and get outdoors. I’m using a bipap machine at night and can show you that in person as it might be changing.

• You must be fully vaccinated, have work related references and a driver’s license.

It’s helpful to have experience working with quadriplegics but will train.
