Payroll Tax Specialist
The Payroll Tax Specialist's primary responsibility is payroll taxes. Responsible for all payroll tax activities within Workday and 3rd party tax vendor, ADP.
Responsibilities
- Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
- Investigates tax variances at Federal, State, & Local levels
- Prepares and files quarterly tax amendments when required
- Studies laws and regulations regarding taxes and payroll withholding procedures
- Prepares special tax reports for senior management
- Reconciles Periodic, Quarterly, and Annual Tax including W2 reconciliation
- Compares Work state & Resident state and reciprocity rules
- Tests new company and tax configurations
- Responds to questions and special requests from employees and regulatory agencies and troubleshoots issues as needed
Requirements
- 4+ years related experience.
- Experience with Tax Reporting, Withholding, W2, Reconciliation
- Independent thinker
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent technical training preferred
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification preferred.
