WHO YOU ARE

As The Payroll Manager you are responsible for maintaining and monitoring the company’s payroll process, internal time & attendance system, payroll tax reporting, and the external payroll vendor to ensure accurate and timely receipt of compensation

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Manage the preparation and distribution of the organization's hourly and salaried payrolls for multiple locations
  • Manages tax/compliance/payroll vendors
  • Ensure Sarbanes-Oxley compliance for all payroll processes
  • Manage payroll accounting, including General Ledger interface
  • Maintain tables for internal and external systems
  • Ensure that all federal, state and local taxes, Social Security contributions, contributions to employee benefit programs, and other deductions, are withheld from individual paychecks
  • Direct the preparation and filing of required reports and/or payments to government agencies, insurance carriers, other organizations and individual employees
  • Serve as liaison with other departments, units, or locations in the resolution of payroll problems
  • Recommend changes in methods or procedures to improve the efficiency of the payroll function
  • Manage staff through hiring, organizational design, career development, training, coaching & mentoring, performance reviews and job description development
  • Works hand in hand with the Team in ensuring operational metrics are achieved
  • Works with the team in managing day to day task and activities
  • Handles other projects and task as delegated
  • Adheres to the goals and objectives set forth by the company
  • Practice and maintain department policies

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or minimum 10 years payroll experience
  • 10+ years of payroll supervisor experience for a large multi-state environment with more than 1,500 employees
  • Experience with multiple shifts and manufacturing environments required
  • Experience with unions required
  • Experience with Ultimate Software / UltiPro payroll software preferred
  • Experience with Infor LN, Factory Track and Time Track preferred
  • Excellent analytical skills with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and high confidence in stating professional opinions
  • Moderate understanding of general ledger designs
  • Proficient in MS office including Word, Excel and Power point.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to perform quantitative analysis, problem solving, and generate summary reports
