POSITION DESCRIPTION: Reporting to the Controller, the Payroll Manager will be responsible for processing the company’s payroll ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with company, federal, and state government regulations with a focus on optimizing efficiency. This position will handle all deductions, tax setup, exemptions, etc., and will be responsible for all payroll-related functions such as audits, annual tax forms, responding to requests for information, and data entry. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills, high attention to detail, and an understanding of the relationship between payroll and finance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Process payroll ensuring compliance with various federal and state regulations, corporate policies and the collective bargaining agreement
• Provide payroll-related data and reports as required for decision-making purposes for senior leadership
• Manage any payroll discrepancies and respond promptly to associate inquiries
• Acts as a subject matter expert for locations on payroll tax, including multi-state, new registrations, and SUI tax rate changes.
• Coordinate’s year end processing including notification of special taxable benefits, such as tuition reimbursement, car allowance, gift cards; assisting with system changes due to organizational restructuring.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 4+ years of progressive experience in payroll
• Knowledge of federal and state tax laws

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience using Paycor
