Payroll and Human Resources AssistantSalary Exempt
Pay Range: $65,000-$70,000.

POSITION SUMMARY

Läderach N. America is seeking a Payroll and Human Resources Assistant who will assist our Payroll Manager with payroll and assist the Human Resources Manager and the Training Manager with various Human Resource projects for North America (US and Canada). This role reports to the Director of Human Resources and Development and is a full-time, hybrid role based in Läderach N. America's office in New York, NY. The ideal candidate would have great attention to detail, enjoy working with numbers, and is excited to learn more about Human Resources.

GENERAL DUTIES

  • Assists with payroll-related functions including but not limited to processing new hires, termination status changes, tax changes, wage garnishments, deductions, and direct deposit.
  • Processes payroll data in a timely manner.
  • Enters payroll data into the payroll processing system.
  • Prints and distributes manual checks as necessary.
  • Maintains payroll records and files including but not limited to sick time and vacation and other accrued leave.
  • Responds to routine inquiries concerning payroll deductions and accruals, wage garnishments, child support payments, and employment verifications.
  • Assists with the preparation of month-end reports.
  • Answers, screens, and directs incoming telephone calls.
  • Sorts and distributes internal and external mail.
  • Performs general clerical duties including but not limited to filing, photocopying, typing, and mailing.
  • Assists with related special projects as required.
  • Process unemployment claims
  • Prepare verification of employment letters
  • Conduct I – I-9 audits and corrections.
  • Assist with Benefit Reconciliations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management. Supports administration, coordination, and application of company-wide human resources policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Assist during open enrollment.
  • Helps to track reviews
  • Maintains employee files and database and completes employee onboarding in the HRIS system.

DESIRED SKILLS

  • One-year certificate from college or technical school, six months to one-year related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience

COMPENSATION PACKAGE

  • Competitive Salary range between $65,000 and $70,000.00
