Concrete Project Manager Job Summary

The Paving Project Manager is responsible for the overall construction project s progress from initial bid preparation to final acceptance and completion. The Project Manager will work closely with the Project Engineer and Superintendent to keep the job on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will have previous paving experience. This role will also be responsible for new paving business acquisitions.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Oversee a Paving Crew, Paving Superintendents, paving Project Engineers
• Understand how to operate and train employees on how to operate a paving machine
• Monitor and control construction progress and costs through administrative direction of on-site project personnel
• Review and approval process for contractor pay applications
• Understand required and optional changes in project scope, negotiating change orders with the owner
• Ensure project documents are complete
• Responsible for project accounting functions including managing the budget, tracking team expenses, and minimizing exposure to the project
• Monitor the progress of the construction activity regularly and hold regular status meetings with all the sub-teams
• Periodic inspection of construction sites
• Maintain safety standards in all aspects of each project

Qualifications

• Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to read blueprints, do limited material takeoffs, and coordinate projects efficiently
• Ability to see the big picture and exercise good judgment in all situations
• Understand the process of decision making utilize it effectively
• Knowledge of foundation, grain bin, metal building, concrete building, and millwright equipment
• Bachelor s Degree is preferred, but not required
