Responsibilities:
Under general supervision of the Charge Nurse and according to established department policies and procedures, the patient sitter assists with observation of patients. Ensures quality and safe delivery of care to adult, adolescent, and pediatric patients. The Patient Sitter interacts as appropriate to the patient’s needs, under the direction of the Charge Nurse and alerts the nursing staff for immediate assistance for any unexpected patient activity always following safety rules and regulations.
Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience: Previous experience in patient care preferred.
Skills: Effective oral and written communication skills; ability to develop a therapeutic relationship while maintaining professional boundaries; ability to manage stressful situations in a calm, organized, and professional manner.
