Hours: 9a-5:30p

Requirements

  • Uses automated systems to perform accurate and timely patient scheduling, registration, and check-out.
    • Relays information to patients regarding preparation diagnostic tests and examinations.
    • Verifies and enters registration and insurance information into the computer system and prepares daily printed schedules.
    • Sends medical questionnaire forms to patients to obtain missing information.
    • Obtains pre-certifications and/or referrals as required by patients' health care insurers or managed care providers.
    • Scans all insurance information as required into computer system.
    • Assists patients or family members with completion of medical insurance forms.
    • Informs patients of costs of care being provided, and guides them to appropriate resources for further information, guidance, or assistance.
    • Collects time of service payments, issues receipts, and prepares financial reconciliation records daily.
    • Fills schedule vacancies due to cancellations.
    • Assists with basic insurance and third-party queries and explains payment policies.
    • Coordinates visits either within the department or between several departments.
    • Arranges or assists in arranging patient transportation.
    • Assists in preparing medical charts.
    • Prints and mails directions, maps, fee schedules, and department information to patients as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum of High school diploma or equivalent required.

Knowledge of business, insurance and/or medical terminology and an excellent command of English grammar and spelling.

EPIC Certification through Johns Hopkins training will be required prior to starting the temporary assignment.
