The psychiatry practice specializes in many common mental health conditions that affect adults, including attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and substance abuse. In addition to providing comprehensive medication management, the innovative practice also offers transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) therapy for medication-resistant depression.

Main Job Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities

Health & Psychiatry is actively looking to hire – Patient Collections Specialist - with below responsibilities -

  • Locate patients with delinquent accounts
  • Contact patients by phone/mail to request payment and to review their account details
  • Collect overdue balances from patients and answer any questions
  • Setup patient with alternative payment plan if needed
  • Resolve discrepancies in a timely fashion, establish clear payment schedules
  • Prepare accounts to be reviewed and turned over to outside collections agency.
  • Notify Practice Manager/Supervisor of problems and risk clients
  • Review outstanding balances to determine if financial responsibility is assigned to appropriate party.
  • If incorrect claim, the Collections Specialist will update account and re-bill or adjust correctly.
  • Collections Specialist will note accounts with current actions
  • Verify accuracy of billing data and revise any errors.
  • Review medical records.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required), Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
  • 2+ years of medical collections experience (required)
  • Knowledge of Insurance plans and providers (required)
  • EClinicalWorks experience (preferred)
  • Experience working within physician practices is highly desirable (preferred)

  • Strong computer skills and experience with office management and communication software
  • Professional appearance and demeanor are required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • Highest levels of personal maturity and integrity required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $33,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
