State Tractor & Equipment , a family-owned company and leader in the heavy construction equipment industry, is looking for a dynamic, experienced Parts Manager to join our team of experts at our headquarters in Kansas City, KS!

Duties / Responsibilities:
  • Supervise Parts Representatives
  • Maintain inventory and records for parts, materials, and equipment
  • Issue and receive parts; enter data into inventory control software
  • Perform cycle-counts and audits of inventory to ensure integrity of parts inventory
  • Maintain and update invoice information
  • Manage the work order process from creation to close
  • Ensure work orders are completed in a timely manner
  • Oversee the filing of warranty claims and ensure the claim is processed quickly and efficiently
  • Oversee organization of parts room, receiving area, and warehouse
  • Assist Service department as needed
  • Work with vendors to negotiate pricing
  • Promote safety awareness and importance
  • Review current processes and procedures for areas we can improve efficiency
  • Other duties as assigned
Skills / Abilities Required:
  • Must be able to multi-task, organize and prioritize items based on importance and time constraints.
  • Must be detail oriented and be able to meet commitments and deadlines.
  • Must be able to function well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

Education / Experience Required:
  • 2 years + of parts experience is required
  • Previous managerial experience is required.
  • Experience with heavy equipment (construction, agriculture, etc.) industries is preferred
  • Mechanical background a plus
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent walking, standing, and sitting for prolonged periods of time.
  • This position may require bending, stretching, kneeling, crouching, lying, climbing, and other various movements as needed to navigate in/on/around heavy equipment.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and navigate various terrain / sites as needed.
  • Specific vision abilities required for this position may include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Use of hands to touch, handle, and feel
  • Reach with hands and arms
  • Talk and hear
  • Must be able to frequently lift and / or move items over 50 lbs.
