Little Sisters of the Poor is immediately hiring Part-Time Dishwasher in our Dining Services Department

Under the direct supervision of the Dining Room Supervisor or delegated authority, will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation requirements in the Dietary Department consistent with the Home’s standards and philosophy, and in accordance with all regulations, codes, policies and procedures that govern the facility.

Open Shifts:

8a-4p Every other Weekend (16 hrs. Bi-weekly)

5p-8pm (21hrs Bi-weekly)

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Preparation of dishes, utensils, pot and pans for washing.
  • Be responsible for operation of dish machine and dish washing room/area.
  • Sort, stack, and deliver clean dishes, glass, tableware, pots, pans and other cooling utensils to the proper storage areas
  • Remove trash and garbage to appropriate waste and recycling receptacles
  • Inform supervisor of inventory needs.
  • Maintain high standards of sanitation, safety, proper storage and handling in accordance with Health department, State, and Federal codes, and Home policy as instructed
  • Sweep & mop assigned areas as instructed, storing brooms, mops and buckets properly in storage area
  • Work effectively and cooperatively as a team member within Department and with all departments or other disciplines
  • Follow all safety, security, exposure control and hazardous waste policies and procedures
  • Assist in receiving food and supply deliveries storing in appropriate areas as directed.
  • Attend in-services and department meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

EQUIPMENT OPERATED:

Dish machine, Brooms, Mops, Buckets, Garbage Disposal, Cleaning Chemical Dispensers, Handwashing Sinks, Paper Towel and Soap Dispensers

PHYSICAL AND COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM THE ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Push, pull, lift and carry objects more than 30lbs; push/pull carts of more than 50lbs, and in cases of emergency, occupied wheelchairs of more than 200lbs
  • Perform simple motor skills such as standing, walking, sitting, etc. Able to perform simple manipulative skills such as, stacking, etc.
  • Walk, stoop, and perform tasks requiring hand-eye coordination.
  • Walk, stand, twist, squat, kneel, bend, reach above shoulders, stand for prolonged periods.
  • Communicate effectively with dietary staff and others.
  • Effectively and emotionally deal with stress created by organizational change and working cooperatively as part of the health care team.
  • Have sufficient vision to read instructions, distinguish colors and interpret gauges.
  • Hear and receive verbal instructions and answer phone calls.
  • Concentrate on moderate to fine detail with frequent to constant interruptions.

**COVID Vaccination Requirement: Applicants must be fully vaccinated, including any required boosters, or be willing to start the series before hire and complete the series in the required time frame.

Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
