    25 hours per week

    EFFECTIVE DATE: 2023/2024 School Year (teacher's first day is August 14, 2023)

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 60 college credit hours or a passing score on a paraprofessional assessment test required
    • Basic clerical skills including filing, keyboarding, and organizational skills
    • Ability to supervise and appear relaxed with large groups of students
    • Willingness to learn new skills
    • Desire to help all students
    • Knowledge of computer software preferred
    • Exhibit emotional stability and physical stamina necessary for meeting the requirements of the position

    DUTIES:

    • Provide a warm and welcoming environment for library use by providing a friendly attitude and inviting decor
    • Monitor student behavior in the media center
    • Read books aloud to students
    • Check books in and out for students
    • Dust and shelve books
    • Help students and teachers locate materials, whether print, audio/visual or digital
    • Process new books
    • Keep books in good repair
    • Create flyers for book fairs
    • Provide a monthly blurb for the school's family newsletter
    • Set up and run book fairs
    • Prepare bank deposits from sales on book fairs
    • Participate in end-of-the-year inventory
    • Provide low level support for students using computers
    • Performs related duties as assigned, including intervention

    SALARY: $10.51 - $14.57 per hour, commenstruate with experience - per DPA Contract

    DIRECT SUPERVISOR: Media Specialist and Building Principal
