This is why we are offering an opportunity for an inspired & broadly skilled Parametric Originator in our diverse and high performing team in New York City.

The Opportunity

Future focused and always one step ahead.

This position focuses on the strategic origination of new parametric transaction pipelines including the development and structuring of new products. Besides the origination and execution of parametric transactions it will be necessary to lead project teams in order to coordinate and support product development but also to leverage collaboration with external partners like data providers, calculation agents or MGA. The execution of transactions will also require to manage the carriers as well as developing and checking the contract wordings.

Responsibilities:
  • Originate, structure and successfully execute state of the art parametric transactions and derivatives
  • Execute new product offerings for CAP while leveraging the wider Munich Re organization and business units
  • Develop, maintain, and strengthen strategic relationships with clients, brokers, external partners and key decision makers with the goal to become their trusted partner and fill our sales pipeline
  • Increase the deal hit ratio for parametric solutions by actively strengthen strategic relationships with external transaction service providers
  • Manage carriers and the legal requirements including the development and checking of primary and reinsurance wordings. Fulfill the role as wording expert at CAP New York
  • Monitor the regulatory environment in all active jurisdictions and recommend/drive change that would enhance our product offerings or set up

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in law, business, economics, mathematics, or similar qualification with a thorough understanding of reinsurance risk and actuarial principals
  • 7+ years of experience in deal origination with structuring and execution in the financial services industry in LatAm markets preferred
  • Strong client orientation, with focus on execution
  • Experienced as team and project leader with strong project management and networking capabilities
  • Innovative and execution-driven entrepreneurial mind set with track record of successfully implemented new products
  • Excellent technical understanding and demonstrated proficiency using pricing tools
  • Expertise or willingness to develop expertise for contractual wordings around parametric insurance and reinsurance as well as MGA agreements etc.
  • Fluent Spanish is required due to the responsibility including South America
  • Willingness to travel for client presentations and client maintenance (up to 25% of the time)

The salary range posted below applies to the Company’s NYC location.

The base salary range anticipated for this position is $188,300. - $276,200., plus opportunity for company bonus based upon a percentage of eligible pay. In addition, the company makes available a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, 401k match, retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).

The salary estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for candidates hired in this position in NYC. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role. Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the range.
