Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc. is seeking a full time Painter I in National City, CA.

Summary: Paint bulkheads, overhead, decks, equipment, piping, buildings, and other structural surfaces, using brushes, rollers, and spray guns. May remove old paint to prepare surface prior to painting. May mix colors or oils to obtain desired color or consistency. Non-supervisory.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Applies paint or primer to interior and/or exterior surfaces.
• Prepares surfaces for painting by removing old paint, using paint remover, scraper, wire brush.
• Fills nail holes, cracks, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other filler, using caulking gun and putty knife.
• Primes surfaces as necessary.
• Covers surfaces with dropcloths or masking tape and paper to protect surfaces during painting.
• Fills cracks, holes, or joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers, using caulking guns or putty knives.
• Applies primers or sealers to prepare new surfaces, such as bare wood or metal, for finish coats.
• Applies paint, stain, varnish, enamel, or other finishes to equipment, buildings, bridges, or other structures, using brushes, spray guns, or rollers.
• Sets up ladders, to work above ground level.
• Removes fixtures such as pictures, door knobs, lamps, or electric switch covers prior to painting.
• Washes and treats surfaces with oil, turpentine, mildew remover, or other preparations, and sand rough spots to ensure that finishes will adhere properly.
• Mixes and matches colors of paint, stain, or varnish with oil or thinning and drying additives to obtain desired colors and consistencies.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Minimum1 year of training involving both on-the-job experience and informal training with experienced workers
• Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
• Able to obtain and maintain access to military and government installations and private shipyards.
• Possess good communication skills
• Ability to listen, understand, and follow directions and instructions

• Ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.

• Ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position.
