Our mission is to support and enable the makers who fuel the pursuit of musical expression. We are currently searching for an exceptional Guitar Painter to join our team in Corona, CA.

The Guitar Painter for the PL 10 line performs hand spraying operations on guitar necks and bodies. With pay up to $25 per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures own production conforms to requirements of quality and schedule.
  • Inspects input/output quality requirements on all units processed.
  • Follows approved procedures to complete all tasks.
  • Maintains work area in a clean, repaired and organized manner.
  • Handles and stores all regulated materials in compliance with company policy, state and federal regulations.
  • Fills in for absenteeism, to assist with excess workloads and to perform miscellaneous operations required to maintain a product flow in the subassembly and final assembly departments.
  • Ability to work overtime as business needs dictate.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by company policy, state and federal regulations.
  • They will mix various finish coatings and perform all spray operations of finish and staining.
  • Inspects parts for proper masking and cleanliness to assure a dust free surface before applying finish.
  • Uses coatings such as nitro cellulose lacquer, stains and colors, and vinyl wash coat.
  • Assists in sanding and masking guitars in preparation for spray.
  • Cleans and maintains all spray equipment regularly, cleans spray booth and changes booth filters.
  • Scrapes binding, rosettes and purfling.
  • Fills guitars prior to spray.
  • Investigates causes for and assist fellow team members to correct issues such as paint build, application, color, nozzle adjustment and air pressures.
  • Performs duties in other areas as needed.

Education & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 - 2 years' experience in a spray booth environment.
  • Proficient with spray booth manufacturing equipment.
  • Guitar or musical background preferred but not required.
  • SUCCESSFUL Candidate MUST PASS E-Verify document/background check

Equipment Used

Operates and sets up machines such as spray guns, spray booths, compressors, sanders and a variety of hand tools. Also performs operations where little or no set up is required.

If this is a remote position, the pay scale disclosed herein may be adjusted further based upon the applicable geographic differential associated with the location from which the successful candidate will work. Please note that it is not typical for a Fender employee to be at or near the top of the pay scale for their role – especially as a new hire – and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Subject to the foregoing, the current pay scale for this position is $28,000.00-$56,000.00 per year.
