Position Summary
InDemand Services is looking for a hard-working Picker/Packer to help us with our shipping and receiving operations. In this position, you will work in our distribution center, packing, labeling, and scanning outgoing shipments.
To ensure success in this position you will need to perform to a high level of accuracy. Our ideal applicant has general warehouse or order picking experience. However, we will work with any applicants that have a strong work ethic and flexibility needed for this position. Top candidates will be upstanding, organized and able to perform under pressure.
Job Responsibilities:
Packing incoming stock away, taking inventory and reporting shortages.
Keeping records of incoming and outgoing shipments.
Picking orders as requested by management.
Accurately and efficiently pick and pack product according to established standards.
Run scanning equipment.
Pack orders to the customer’s requirement and/or from provided specifications.
Sealing and tagging containers, confirming accuracy of orders and signing pick tickets to confirm.
Ensuring correct shipping information is attached and moving completed orders to shipping area.
Placing containers on pallets, and securing with stretch wrap, shrink wrap and strapping.
Loading and unloading trucks by using totes, jacks and forklifts.
Assisting in maintaining security of warehouse.
Adhere to and enforce company specific safety policies
Safely operate all the necessary equipment in work area
Flexibility to perform other job-related tasks as deemed necessary by management
Qualifications:
High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent.
1+ years’ work experience in a similar role.
Ability to work harmoniously with diverse range of people.
Proficient with using tools required for this position.
Physically agile and dexterous.
Proficient organizational skills.
Good verbal/written communication and math skills
Must be able to work the scheduled, assigned times and required overtime for the position
Able to stand, walk, reach, and lift repeatedly throughout shift
Able to lift, stack, and/or pull products off shelves, as well as replenish product, from various heights and various weights
Able to work in multi-temperature environments, i.e. cooler, freezer and dry
Physical Demands
Lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying up to 40 pounds regularly
Lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying up to 60 pound occasionally
Walking frequently
Driving frequently
Reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, and squatting frequently
Regularly required to speak, see, and hear
