The Operational Supervisor is responsible for leading a team and driving efficiencies in an automated distribution or production environment. The Operations Supervisor responsibilities may involve inbound operations, outbound operations or a functional process responsibility within the fulfillment center on a specified shift or across multiple shifts.

Projected start date is May 1st, 2023.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Establish daily goals and priorities, review quality, accuracy, and standard of work to identify operational and workflow enhancements.
  • Conduct start-up meetings, communicate department expectations, and coordinate day-to-day work activities to ensure operational goals and objectives are met.
  • Ensure employees have the required tools and training on matters of; safety, operational standards, and department goals to achieve success.
  • Provide timely and specific employee feedback to create a culture of action and accountability; prioritizes new hire onboarding and individual development to protect the employee experience and drive a strong culture.
  • Encourage and develop ownership within the department, identify high performers and cross-train to build a strong line of talent succession.
  • Collaborate with peers, management, and cross-functional business partners to effectively identify, problem solve and resolve issues affecting business operations.
  • Maintain fiscal responsibility within the DC including labor and supply cost control.
  • Adhere to company safety standards and uphold all company policy and procedures to support the profitability of supply chain.

Skills Requirements:

  • Multiple years of experience leading others
  • Excellent oral, written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong planning and organization skills, able to multi-task and prioritize effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to track, record and report department production
  • Able to work with minimal supervision

System Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with Warehouse Management system, Radio Frequency, waving strategies and Kronos time management systems
  • Knowledge of Sterling (OMS), Manhattan Associates WMS or equivalent warehouse management systems
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Physical Requirements:

Employees are required to stand, walk, climb, stoop, and kneel. They may frequently lift up to 50 pounds and operate warehouse equipment (i.e. forklift, pallet jack, order picker) which requires some coordinated movements.
