Summary:

This position will organize, create, market, and manage classes within a Learning Management System to provide asynchronous and synchronous courses for teachers, paraeducators, administrators, and other clock hour eligible educators.

Essential Functions:

  • Create classes and shells in Canvas or other Learning Management Software (LMS).
  • Curate relevant education and content for classes in LMS within the NWESD as well as outside organizations to modify and create online classes.
  • Modify current in person professional learning opportunities to an asynchronous format.
  • Market online class opportunities through various networks and coordinate calendar efforts with NWESD Instructional Technology Specialist, Registrar, and other appropriate staff.
  • Manage each class in LMS and pdEnroller, to include grading, correspondence, etc.
  • Support educators in obtaining clock hours.
  • Prepare and monitor online classes for ADA compliance.
  • Support synchronous online classes.
  • Perform related duties as assigned. Related duties may not specifically be listed but are within the general occupational series and responsibility level typically associated with the employee’s classification of work.

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Knowledge of best practices related to remote learning.
  • Knowledge of ADA laws and ability to apply best practices for compliance.
  • Knowledge of copyright law and fair use.
  • Knowledge in multiple educational domains including math, science, technology, SEL, behavior, equity, health, and other like subjects.
  • Ability and willingness to gain knowledge in unfamiliar subject areas.
  • Skill in the use of, or ability to learn pdEnroller, clock hour management software.
  • Skills in Microsoft Suite, Google, as well as other office and educational software.
  • Ability to supervise support staff, if needed.
  • Ability to collaborate and network in person, online, and written communication.
  • Ability to deliver professional learning online or in person.
  • Ability to analyze issues, problem solve, and create plans both independently and with a team.
  • Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to be flexible, working some evenings and weekends as needed.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree, successful P-16 teaching experience preferred. Experience with the use of technology and learning management systems. Demonstrated experience teaching professional learning as well as experience managing LMS, workshops and special events. WSP/FBI criminal history background clearance required. Valid Washington State driver’s license and proof of liability insurance preferred.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

Work is performed in an office environment. Lifts and carries a maximum of twenty-five (25) pounds. Adequate manual and finger dexterity, hearing, speech, and vision are necessary to perform the essential functions of this position.

Hazards: Those present in a normal office environment. Lifting and moving tables and chairs for workshop setup is a potential hazard if proper safety procedures are not adhered to.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $92,643.20 - $104,339.80 per year
