With the powder comes the shoveling! We are looking for applicants who can ski/snowboard at an intermediate level to/from our Food & Beverage locations on-mountain. Ski/snowboard level is contingent on passing an on-snow assessment.

Detailed job description, including responsibilities, work performed, tools or equipment used, etc.:

  • Provide snow removal and ice build-up prevention around mountain facilities

  • Daily set up and breakdown of outdoor furniture

  • Assist with litter control

  • Employee will need to provide appropriate snow removal outerwear for inclement weather (i.e. hat, gloves, snow pants, jacket, etc.)

  • Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements

  • Other duties, as assigned

Minimum skills, experience, and education required for this job:

  • Work in adverse weather conditions

  • Communicate both verbally and non-verbally in a positive, guest friendly manner

  • Report to work timely, dressed, and prepared for your daily assignment

  • Adhere to all safety policies

  • Interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers and management consistent with Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s Service Excellence standards

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be a minimum 18 years of age

  • Lift 50 lbs. frequently with snow removal

  • Bend and lift heavy snow on days requiring snow removal (shoveling)

  • Work outdoors in extreme weather conditions

  • Remain standing for extended periods of time in one outdoor station

  • Operating a vehicle is an essential function of this position and will require the successful applicant to meet the minimum requirements of the Alterra Driver’s Standards Policy that includes possessing a valid Driver's License and meet insurability standard

Miscellaneous information:

  • This is an hourly non-exempt position and is subject to overtime pay

  • This position is on-call and must be available as early as 6am, 7 days per week; with the ability to report to work as early as 6 am on assigned day

  • Employee is provided with uniform

  • All Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation employees are required to follow adapting COVID policies and guidelines.

The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.

Steamboat area base hourly pay rate: $18.50 per hour
