While receiving leadership support from department leader, the Office Assistant will advance our mission by providing clerical support to assist in the daily operations of the department in a manner that is consistent with the mission, vision and values and brand of Goodwill NCW.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides clerical support to assigned department including recurring daily, weekly and monthly administrative tasks.
  • Directs phone calls and phone calls and email messages and distributes as applicable within the department and organization.
  • Ensures the efficient flow of paperwork through the department and organization, accurate data entry in applicable system(s), cooperation with staff and input to improve current process.
  • Greets and directs visitors while ensuring a high level of customer service to team members, partner agencies and Goodwill Community Campus guests and visitors.
  • Tracks and enters information such as surveys, client notes and other data into software programs or files as applicable.
  • Completes filing tasks as applicable, including alphabetizing, collating and filing in appropriate locations.
  • Prepares information for the department as needed including photocopies, presentations, files, documents and anything else assigned.
  • Supports customer and client requests as needed.
  • Maintains the confidentiality of records.
  • Builds relationships within and outside the department as critical for success.
  • Functions as a clerical backup for other departments where cross training is available.
  • Completes other administrative duties and projects as assigned.

Education, Skills and Experience Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • At least a basic level of competency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint.
  • Willingness and ability to learn and understand software programs and other technology as applicable to specific role or department.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Understanding of confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive information.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with non-profit organizations is preferred.
