Come join our awesome Rehab Staff at White Oak Manor Newberry! We are seeking Full-time and PRN Occupational Therapists to join our staff! We are a 146-bed Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation facility located at 2555 Kinard St., Newberry, SC. We have an awesome team of licensed nurses, CNAs, and administrative staff to care for our residents! We would love to meet with you!

CERTIFICATE / LICENSE: Must meet the criteria of the South Carolina Board of Occupational Therapy
(New graduates must be registered with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.)


SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports directly to the Rehab Director.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to perform the physical job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation, as follows:

  • Lift 50lbs from floor to knuckle occasionally
  • Lift 25lbs from knuckle to shoulder occasionally
  • Pivot transfer 200lbs occasionally
  • Carry up to 20lbs, 200 feet frequently
  • Push / pull 75lbs, 200 feet frequently
  • Sit up to 2 hours occasionally
  • Stand up to 2 hours occasionally
  • Squat, stoop, or kneel up to 15 minutes occasionally
  • Fine hand manipulation, bilaterally frequently (non-essential)
  • Heavy grasp, bilaterally frequently
  • Visual acuity corrected to a level to be able to complete paperwork and perform patient care
  • Tactile discrimination


TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Must be able to perform duties of the position under working conditions as follows:

  • The OTR will respond to a request for service and obtain physician’s orders for evaluation.
  • The OTR may be responsible for supervising/training personnel such as COTA or OT aides.
  • The OTR will evaluate patients and establish a written plan of care with objective, measurable, and functional goals.
  • The OTR will be responsible for planning, administering, and supervising the COTA after the evaluation is completed.
  • The OTR will maintain accurate daily records of treatments given to patient.
  • The OTR may be requested to perform facility requested In-services.
  • The OTR will maintain a patient load compatible with the work setting and Company standards; as well as maintain a productivity rate of at least 75%; or higher productivity rate as deemed necessary.
  • The OTR will be responsible for establishing restorative and/or maintenance programs.
  • The OTR will be required to assess treatments and modify plan of care as indicated.
  • The OTR will maintain weekly progress notes and follow all documentation guidelines.
  • The OTR will make sure that all documentation is complete, accurate, and timely.
  • The OTR will be responsible for preparing and maintaining work setting, equipment, and supplies.
  • The OTR will communicate with the referring physician and any other rehab team member regarding the patient’s total treatment program.
  • The OTR is responsible for completing special requested screens.
  • The OTR is required to follow all established Policies and Procedures.
  • The OTR is required to submit all employee paperwork to corporate in a timely manner.
  • The OTR may be requested to travel to other locations to provide therapy services.
