Responsibilities:
Essential Functions of Occupational Therapist Role:
  • Review Physician’s referral (prescription) and patient’s condition and medical records to determine occupational therapy treatment required
  • Plan and prepare written treatment program based on evaluation of patient data
  • Appropriately document all aspects of care including clinical services, billing and correspondence with the healthcare team and the public
  • Comply with all regulatory guidance including but not limited to HIPAA, Medicare rules and billing and coding guidance
  • Coordinate participation in sensorimotor, educational, recreational, and social activities designed to help patients or disabled persons develop or regain physical or mental functioning or adjust to disabilities
  • Maintain established productivity standards
  • Demonstrate comprehensive clinical knowledge and acceptable performance in all aspects of the patient/client encounter
  • Appropriately delegate tasks to support personnel and interns
  • Consult with other members of rehabilitation team to select activity program consistent with needs and capabilities of individual and to coordinate occupational therapy with other therapeutic activities
  • Conduct training programs or participate in training medical and occupational therapy students and other workers in occupational therapy techniques and objectives
  • Performs effectively as a member of a team
Qualifications:
Experience and Skills Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) in Occupational Therapy from an accredited college or university required
  • Unrestricted Occupational Therapist licensure in practice in State of employment required
